Change gmail theme - Ever wonder how your friend got that cool new background on his or her Gmail account? This article will show you how to change yours. Want to make your Gmail page more fun? Change the theme. Some themes even change with the time of day, just like the themes in iGoogle.

To change your theme in Gmail, first log into Gmail and go to Mail Settings in the upper right-hand corner.

Next, click on the Themes tab.

Choose a theme by clicking on one of the theme thumbnails. If you don't like any of the themes, you can also choose your own color scheme.

Make sure you set your location if you choose a theme that changes with the time of day, such as Tea House.

That's it. You don't need to press save anywhere to keep your changes, and you can go back and change your theme as often as you'd like.

Labels in gmail - Gmail implemented a very cool feature (or at least it was recently added to my account) in the form of colored labels. You can assign each label a color from a selection, and I find this really handy when you're scanning through all your unread mails at once. I like it.

Some Gmail users have spotted they can now customize their label colors. Perhaps Google is experimenting with this feature, or they are rolling it out for all of us at the moment. Also, with this change you can now remove a label from a mail you are viewing by clicking on the label’s X button.

How to set up gmail account on iphone ? - The iPhone is a fantastic phone, but if you're a heavy user of Google services, it can be a little confusing to set up your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts to sync with iOS. The default method's no good. Here's the better way to do it.
You can get all your Google services syncing (complete with push sync—that is, messages push to your phone as soon as you receive them) with iOS by setting up just one account. The trick is to choose Microsoft Exchange at the prompt instead of Gmail. This will give you access not only to your Gmail, but your calendars and contacts, and they will all sync directly to your phone—when you add a contact in Gmail or edit an event on Google Calendar, you'll see it show up on your phone without having to sync anything.

  1. Open up the Settings app on your iOS device and go to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" section. Hit "Add Account".
  2. From there, choose Microsoft Exchange as the type of account (again, don't choose Gmail).
  3. Type in your Gmail address under Email. Leave the Domain field blank and enter your full Gmail address under Username (including the @gmail.com, @googlemail.com, or other suffix). Type in your password and give it any description you like. Mine's just called "Gmail".
  4. Press the Next button at the top of the screen. It should pop up a message saying Unable to Verify Certificate—if it does, just hit cancel. Then, type m.google.com in the new "Server" box that shows up at the top of the screen. Then tap Next.
From there, you should be all set. You can turn on Mail, Contact, and Calendar syncing from the account settings page that shows up. Note that pressing the trash can icon in the Mail app will archive a message, not delete it completely. If you want to delete it, you can hit the folder icon and choose Trash from the menu to move it to the trash.

Restore Gmail Contacts - If you have deleted a Gmail contacts accidentally, don't worry. Gmail gives you ample time of 30 days to restore Gmail contacts you have deleted.

Step 1: Login to your Gmail account and go to ‘Contacts’.

Step 2: Go to ‘More’ drop down option and select ‘Restore Contacts’.

Step 3: The following windows will come up.

Select the time frame, wherever you need, from 10 minutes to 30 days and click on ‘Restore’ button.
Now refresh you contacts and all your deleted Gmail contacts are restored.

Delete gmail contacts - Gmail Contacts is a nice replacement for your old contact address book. Giving you the opportunity to easily add and edit contact list is an upper hand and it offers a great system for managing your contacts. In this article I will show you how to delete Gmail contacts.
Step 1: Login to your Gmail account with your username and password. On the left side under Google logo you will see Gmail drop down window. Click it and select ‘Contacts’.
 
Step 2: You will land on the page where you have stored your contacts. Now select the contact which you wish to delete. If you wish to delete all Gmail contacts at once, then click on the drop down button and select ‘All’.
If you wish to delete a specific group of contacts, select it from the drop down option.

Step 3: Go to ‘More’ option and click on ‘Delete Contact / Contacts’.  You will find that the Gmail contact (or contacts) you had selected are removed from your contact list.     

Note: Contacts in Gmail are related to the other services of Google, for example: Google+ Therefore when you delete a Gmail contact, the person would get deleted automatically from your lists in other Google services.  
Note: Gmail also adds contacts to you list automatically to whom you send email. However you can stop Gmail adding contacts automatically.
